Expanding international investors network

22.3.2022

The Invest & Expand in Pohjois-Savo project signed a partnership contract with European Business Angel Network (EBAN) last year and is looking to expand their investor network and attracting cross-border investments.

EBAN is the pan-European representative for the early stage investor community established in 1999, gathering over 150 member organizations in more than 50 countries today. EBAN represents a sector estimated to invest 11.4 billion Euros a year and playing a vital role in Europe’s future, notably in the funding of SMEs. EBAN’s purpose is to create and lead the European business angel networks as well as individual business angels.

First time in Kuopio

Cooperation with EBAN will be carried out through different kinds of activities and events. This year three EBAN members will be joining the annual pitching contest in Tahko Mountain. Jacopo Losso from Belgium is the director of secretariat EBAN who is responsible for managing the organization and its network of members. Lev Dogatsjov from Estonia is the President of Estonian Business Angels Network EstBAN, Member of the Board of Directors at European Business Angels Network EBAN. Audra Shallal from France is currently a founder and Managing Director of an international strategic management firm. Audra maintains two streams of specialization: entrepreneurship-business planning and pitch coaching-investor ready programs.

Tahko Ski lift pitch is the perfect event to showcase the region’s innovative startups and meet important people and companies. Having the EBAN members joining Tahko ski lift pitch and being part of the pitching jury is a big step towards a more international event.

Come, learn and evolve

It is important for EBAN to co-work with local business angels and VC’s when it comes to cross-border investments. Gladly this year also Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN) will be joining Tahko Ski lift pitch. FiBAN is a non-profit association of private investors on a mission to inspire private investments. The network is one of the largest and most active business angel networks in the world with over 650+ approved members.

Invest and Expand in Pohjois-Savo has organized a dynamic side event on the 6th of March at Hophaus Tahko together with FiBAN and EBAN. The specialists and investors together will hold a workshop on how to do the winning go-to-market strategy. The workshop will explain why startups need a good GTM strategy in place, and how to create it. As the Tahko ski lift pitch has been focusing on internationalization this year, this side event is something you do not want to miss. It is also a great way to get to know EBAN and FiBAN better and extend your network.
